Welcome to Resonate’s Artist of the Week. In this third edition we are bringing you a Scottish acoustic artist who caught our attention at the end of 2018. Alex Maxwell is an acoustic singer songwriter from Dumfries, who has gripping vocals and a strong connection to nature and his Scottish heritage. Alex has been growing within the Scottish independent scene from recently playing the Gathering South Sessions and gaining recognition for his new single.

Alex’s latest release “Soul Divine” has bone chilling vocals which capture the emotion and tone of the track extremely well. This release has also received raving reviews such as single of the week on Janice Forsyth’s BBC Radio Scotland show and placed at No.9 on the Radio Indie Alliance top 10 on The Premium Blend Radio Show. Themes of nature and Scottish heritage flow throughout all of Alex’s releases and he will have more to come, with harmonious vocals which compliment his guitar playing. Whether it’s his strong sense of song writing, his stylish guitar playing, or the tone of his voice Alex has all these areas covered. Alex is currently working on more music as we speak so make sure to be on the lookout for what 2019 has in store for him.
