Taking this weeks’ AOTW crown is charismatic quartet Better Halves.

After a long absence spent working behind closed doors, Better Halves are back – with a fresh outlook, a fresh style, and most importantly, a fresh sound. A sound that’s straight from smooth sands of California’s Venice Beach - effortlessly cool, jangley and refreshingly pop.

Their new self-produced single ‘Over Again’ captures the essential elements of their previous work and combines it with the best bits of indie-pop tradition to create their take on the genre. ‘Over Again’ looks at the allure of a do-over - not only in relationships but all those elements of our lives we replay in our heads and imagine what we’d do differently or the same. With a song you'll struggle to get out your head. You would be forgiven for mistaking their distinct new sonic identity for the likes of Phantom Handshakes or Alfie Templeman - it’s truly hypnotic. We fully expect to be seeing Better Halves gracing the stages of major festivals in summers to come, bringing their summery feel good sound-waves with them.
