Resonate Artist Of The Week: Jen Ella

We’re back and just about recovered from our 5th edition of Resonate Music Conference which took place at Platform last week - and we’re pleased to bring you lucky lot another exclusive premiere, courtesy of Cork native Jen Ella.

Now based in Glasgow, Jen Ella is a singer-songwriter and musician who and has been writing music all her life. She writes about her personal life implementing tales from love, travel, growing up in Ireland, history and relationships. ‘Alien’ is a stalwart piece with nowhere to hide, drawling parallels to the likes of Lykke Li, Julia Jacklin and a sprinkling of Tift Merritt. Her unquestionable talent is cocooned in fascinating DIY production likening to the sounds of the 60s and is something that wouldn’t be out of place on any BBC 6Music show.

Following success this year making BBC sound’s airplay twice with her two tracks ‘Eyes for you’ and ‘Lipstick Queen’ Jen has spent the last few months working on new music and with the aim to bring a new fresher sound. Her music has been played on international radio such as amazing radio and featured in many articles across Scotland and Ireland such as Finbar Hoban Presents, Indiebuddie, Theothersidereviews, For the love of bands, Alternative Fruit, Not Bad, Hot Press magazine and more.

Having already graced the likes of the Celtic connection stage back in 2019, Endless Summer Sessions at The Hug & Pint, Queens Park Festival, Southside Fringe, Edinburgh Fringe and supporting acts across venues such as Voodoo Rooms Edinburgh, we’re predicting big things from Jen Ella in 2022 - watch this space.
