Resonate Artist Of The Week: Elisabeth Elektra
Glasgow based electro-pop songstress, Elisabeth Elektra released her spectacular debut EP ‘Feeding Demons’ this year to the rapturous applause of music journalists and fans alike. Undoubtedly Elisabeth carries a distinct tenacity in her belief of transformation via the power of art - resulting in exceptionally forward thinking songwriting.
Elekra’s songwriting prowess is showcased in this intriguing 3-track EP, soaring through fantastical inspired electronica . Title track ‘Feeding Demons’ is euphoric - with an unmistakably catchy ascending chord sequence that is sandwiched between drone like bass rhythms and Elektra’s glossy vocals. The EP falls into the darker notes of ‘Haekara’ before rising for the pulsating finale of ‘Constellation Woman’. A timely energy builds which is driven by repetitive complex synth rhythms and Elektra’s vocals take a turn for the operatic. There’s an etherial vivacity to this track, all elements working harmoniously. You can listen and download the latest EP via Bandcamp.
It’s clear Elisabeth has worked hard to perfect these electro-pop symphonies. Her album ‘Mercurial’ which debuted earlier this year received impressive four star reviews in MOJO, Record Collector and other glowing assessments. This 3-track EP is no different - another collection [albeit a smaller collection] of incredible clear cut electro-pop compositions.
