Resonate Artist of The Week: t e s t p r e s s

Resonate Artist Of The Week time and it comes in the form of dynamic Aberdeenshire duo t e s t p r e s s. Hot off the back of their SMML EP released on Trick last month, we can see the pair shooting for the stars after this effervescent display.

Originally releasing house edits on Soundcloud - the likes of Dario G’s ‘Sunchyme’ and other classics getting the t e s t p r e s s treatment, the pair have now turned their attention and prodigious production skills to original tracks. Three of which debuted on their ‘SMML EP’ and has seen them rise to the very top #1 spot on Beatport.

Flashbacks of the Wamdue Project classic bassline from ‘King Of My Castle’ are prevalent in title track SMML. A cool, disco-infused house track which is all the things that t e s t p r e s s are; cool, groovy and fab-u-lous. ‘turboshandy’ draws likeness to tech house megastars like Patrick Topping & Sulta but with a unique drizzle of garage vocals. Closing proceedings on this epic 3 track venture is ‘heavy bad yin’. As ‘Sing Hallelujah’ booms above an acidic bomb of layered bass melodies, we are in awe. What a voice. What a bass. What a tune.

t e s t p r e s s are sitting in great company in Beatport’s Top House 100. All three [yes all three] tracks are included. Go check em out and support this vivacious pair.
