Resonate Artist of The Week : TAAHLIAH
This our Resonate artist of the week is TAAHLIAH, a music producer and DJ from Glasgow. Her energetic potent pop have made her a figurehead in the Scottish & wider scene.
Having established her name in the Berlin underground dance scene, TAAHLIAH’s iconoclastic productions mix grinding electronic music with elements of experimental, trance and hyperpop.
TAAHLIAH has placed herself at the centre of a new generation of electronic producers revitalising the genre and furthering a societal ideal of fluidity. 2020 has brought around exceptional collaborations including Walt Disco’s ‘Dancing Shoes Won’t Fix My Mind (TAAHLIAH Remix)’. Adding to what has already been a great year, TAAHLIAH was recently nominated for two Scottish Alternative Music Awards (Best Newcomer, Best Electronic).
Aiming to discuss the invisibility of minorities and the various incidents provoked by the binary model. TAAHLIAH’s work reveals the liberating potential within the exaggeratedly efficient and expansive genre of electronic music, in which the glossy packaging serves to politicise the subject matter. We wholly implore you to check out TAAHLIAH’s work on Soundcloud here.
We are pleased to welcome TAAHLIAH to this years’ conference programme and she will be speaking on our ‘More Than Music’ session alongside Yaw Owusu (PRS Foundation/The Playmaker Group), Olga FitzRoy (Music Producers’ Guild) and Claire O’Neill (A Greener Festival).
