Resonate Artist Of The Week: Theo Bleak

Picture this… songwriting capabilities that would challenge the likes of Arlo Parks and First Aid Kit, a voice so pure and irreproachable it will tickle your tear ducts. Those are just some of the talents young Theo Bleak is blessed with.

2021 saw the launch of the Dundonian’s career with a string of single releases including ‘Feels Like Rain’ and ‘Paper’. Her latest instalment in ‘You’re Not Even Really Here’ is a vividly expressive track, exploring the woes of relationships.

“Bury me, in your clothes i’m in paradise

Bury me, with my phone i’m in paradise

You’ve not even really here

You’re exactly what i’ve always feared”

There’s a smokey undercurrent in ‘You’re Not Even Really Here’ , coupled with hypnotic instrumentation - it. makes for absolutely blissful listening.

Undoubtedly a talent we’ll be seeing and hearing more of in 2022, Theo’s small but impressive catalogue has already brought so many achievements; landing major editorial streaming playlists, a debut solo headline tour oh and the small matter of supporting fellow Mañama management artist Joesef in 2021. What’s next in store for Theo Bleak? Surely greatness.
