Resonate Artist Of The Week : Pali Gap

After hearing ‘Parallel’ by Pali Gap on BBC Radio Scotland’s airwaves on Friday night, we were set on making this psychedelic electronica songwriter-producer our spotlight artist this week.

Capturing a synonymous woozy, kaleidoscopic mood that oozes class and production perfection - ‘Parallel’ is another solid addition to Pali Gaps short but impressive catalogue. Soothing raspy vocals are nestled nicely between warms synths, punctuated guitar riffs and head bopping percussive grooves. It’s a definite toe-tapper. Reminiscent of those great indie-psychedelic-ers like Empire Of The Sun, Tame Impala & maybe even a bit of Toro Y Moi.

It’s clear that this emergent producer has spent time nailing his production technique - I would go so far as to say it’s unrivalled. Clear, crisp and expectedly crafted melodies and instrumentation.

For me, ‘Parallel’ projects that sonic energy of a slow falling sunset - it gives us all hope of enjoying those summer evenings in parks with friends, food and drinks in tow.
