Resonate Artist Of The Week : Liam Doc
Fast proving himself as one of the finest dance purveyors to come out of Scotland in recent years, Liam Doc made another solid stamp into his growing and impressive catalogue. The latest edition ‘A.S.M.R (I’m Trying)’ was released last week on Shall Not Fade - a label which has homed records from the likes of Laurence Guy, Lis Sarroca, Ron Elliot & Black Loops.
‘A.S.M.R (I’m Trying')’ is the first single from the upcoming 6-track EP ‘K-Toi Trax’ set for release 14th May and will be available on vinyl as well as digitally. It’s dark… it’s adventurous and it’s cutting edge. Key to its uniqueness is a relentless vibrating bass-line all wrapped up in industrial-tribal inspired sonics. Perhaps something unexpected from the popular Subclub resident is the resounding nod to minimalist techno throughout this track reminiscent of the likes of Special Request & Ade Kaleh. Doc’s unique audible identity leaves us longing to hear the rest of the EP which we’re sure promises more breakbeat and percussive goodness.
Liam Doc has seen a spectacular rise in recent years with his rightful inclusion in some of Scotland’s biggest electronic club nights and festivals including Fly Open Air & Shapes At Jail.
