Another week, another incredible Scottish artist highlighted and we are proud to say this week’s artist performed as part of our Resonate Live showcase back in 2018.

Lizzie Reid released her debut EP ‘Cubicle’ last week with it unequivocally cementing her place on the map as one of the UK’s most exciting nu-folk artists. With the likes of Radio 1, 6 Music, BBC Introducing, DIY, Clash and more supporting this young songstress, it was evident that her highly anticipated debut would be welcomed with warm hugs and applause.

The 7-track record includes singles ‘Seemless’, ‘Tribute’, ‘Been Thinking About You’ & ‘Always Lovely’. Lizzie’s soothing vocals have an addictive gravitational pull which are undoubtedly enhanced by exceptional songwriting.

Title track ‘Cubicle’ closes proceedings with a tenderness that’s unlike anything we’ve heard. An engrossing attribute in this particular song is her expressive, illustrative lyrics - they paint a vivid picture. This track carries a particular sombre-ness of reflection and reminiscence.

Lizzie has been likened to Sharon Van Etten, Laura Marling and even Édith Piaf.
