Resonate Artist Of The Week: Zerrin

We’re over the moon to bring you another sumptious artist of the week here at Resonate and this weeks champion is Glasgow-based and Australian born, Zerrin. An artist who draws on a broad range of musical influences in her brand new single Heads Turning - from the dark irreverence of St Vincent, to the dreamy cinemascapes of Weyes Blood to Nadine Shah’s rich vocals with a dash of David Lynch.

Heads Turning is slower, moodier and slightly trippy compare to its’ predecessor Give Them What They Want. Zerrin’s latest instalment is an exploration of both fear and hope for the future, staring down the good, bad and the ugly of the times we live in, and finding strength in community and those who seek change. It’s shrouded in mystery and weirdness and we LOVE IT.

We’re expecting great things from Zerrin’s and her imminent debut EP having recently picked up guest spots and airplay in both the UK and Australia on airwaves including EHFM, FBi Radio and 1020 Radio. It was also reviewed, featured and playlisted by outlets including Underground Sounds, Spotlight, Boot Music, and Last Day Deaf.

We particularly love this week’s Resonate Artist Of The Week because we discovered Zerrin through the wonderful network of Scottish Women Inventing Music (SWIM).

Heads Turning by Zerrin is out now! You can check it out here.
