KLEOPATRA is a performance android with human consciousness captivating her audiences. A glitch in the music scene that she has taken on with full power. KLEOPATRA’s dark pop beats combined with melodic lines, catchy hooks and dystopian subject matter are sure to keep you transfixed.
Already having performed at Resonate Live, Tenement Trail and numerous gig supports around Glasgow. Her last show, at the Hug & Pints First Footing event saw her play to a full venue. KLEOPATRA will be supporting MALKA on her album launch gig at Stereo, Glasgow on March 5th and North Atlas on March 6th at Opium, Edinburgh.

KLEOPATRA recently released her third single 'Ukiyo'. a song about the ‘floating, fleeting, or transient’ world, a Japanese concept which refers to urban life in Japan in the Edo-Period 1600 to 1867 - which was beauty, leisure and pleasure activity-centric. The song alludes to this period and takes its inspiration from the word’s meaning but also takes inspiration from beauty standards in modern society.

The song’s artwork is a comment on how these standards, ideas and therefore products are projected onto us as a society. Ukiyo is an interesting concept as the word itself is a homophone with an alternative and ironic meaning - 'sorrowful world'. This refers to the mundane human life which is restricted by death and rebirth from which Buddhists seek relief and say cannot be obtained by worldly pleasures.
