Resonate Artist Of The Week : Rachel Newton

Multi-instrumentalist and vocalist Rachel Newton sweeps this week’s ‘Resonate Artist Of The Week’ slot following the release of her most recent single ‘We Will Listen’.

An incredibly accomplished musician, songwriter & performer, Rachel’s accolades include; Instrumentalist of the Year 2016 at the Scots Trad Music Awards, Musician of the Year in the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards 2017 and a coveted shortlisted album for The Scottish Album Of The Year Award in 2017 with ‘My Heart Come Take It’.

This latest offering is the third instalment which precedes Rachel’s imminent album ‘To The Awe’ which is set for release in November. ‘We Will Listen’ evokes an unequivocal captivation - sombre tones evident throughout with delicately placed horns, flickering harp & moments of induced calm with strings.
