Our artist of the week… step up Joell. This sensationally talented songwriter, producer and artist from Edinburgh is taking huge strides in Scotland’s reputable hip hop scene. His most recent collaboration with fellow Edinburgh artist Billy Got Waves resulted in a smooth tasty hip hop dream. Phrasing that will knock your socks off, a beat that is sultry yet holds a bounce, a catchy chorus and a bob that’ll stick with you all day. What’s not to love. This bop is out on 131 Northside, an Edinburgh based record label and rap collective featuring; Billy Got Waves, WTKAKACB & Joell.

Joell.’s previous releases have included the alluring ‘Low Key’ released on Glasgow label Powder Recordz earlier this year. It’s as clear as day in every track, Joell. has an unimaginable cool tone. His rhythmic phrasing approach is gentle but clever. Not only is Joell. committed to producing amazing audio content for us all to feast on, he clearly has an artistic taste when it comes to visuals.
