Join the Association for Electronic Music alongside some of the electronic scene’s top music professionals & artists to discuss their Respect the Creator campaign. This initiative, supported by key figures in the electronic music scene, aims to set a new industry standard for crediting the musical works featured in social media content uploaded by DJs, artists, labels, and brands.

This initiative, supported by key figures in the electronic music scene, aims to set a new industry standard for crediting the musical works featured in social media content uploaded by DJs, artists, labels, and brands.

The income and visibility gap is getting ever wider between DJ and Producer, and we're going to explore how we all play a part in building a sustainable career for music creators and performers, and ensuring everyone gets their credits and can build a career whether they are on tour or not.

Finlay Johnson [COO - Association for Electronic Music

The Chief Operating Officer of AFEM; Finlay Johnson spent ten years in multiple venue production, artist liaison and curatorial roles at the world’s largest arts festival, the Edinburgh International Festival Fringe. Before becoming a live agent at WME, representing DJs and live acts from underground clubs to festivals to arena tours.

For the past year he has been leading the AFEM transition and is seeking to amplify the best of the electronic music culture, and reduce the barriers to education and commerce within the industry.

Frances Shillito [NWM Management]

In 2024, Frances (former founder of FRNT MGMT) merged companies with Alan Fitzpatrick’s No Words Needed Management. Frances is a well respected figure in the realm of artist management, renowned for her passion for dance music and profound dedication to nurturing talent. With a wealth of experience and a keen eye for emerging artists, Frances has left an indelible mark on the industry landscape.

Frances propelled the agency to the forefront of the electronic scene by being the first female founded agency on the market, curating a roster of underground artists and orchestrating their ascent to prominence. Her innate ability to recognise potential, coupled with her strategic insight, has cemented her reputation in the field.

As she embarks on the next chapter of her journey with NWN, Frances remains steadfast in her mission to empower artists and elevate their voices on a global scale.'

Chris Lamb [Agent - Elite Music Management]

Working primarily with techno live acts and DJs, the Glaswegian has been an agent at Elite Music Management for 10+ years. He represents several of the genres leading artists including Dax J, Perc, Slam & SPFDJ. Earlier in his career in music he worked press, distribution and A&R at Soma Records, promotion at Slam Events and also at the Arches. He studied Sound Production and Music Management courses at Stow College, and was a founding member of the Animal Farm collective, who have now promoted techno events in Glasgow for 20 years.

Frank Nitzinsky [DJ/Producer - Ghost in the Maschine]

Frank Nitzinsky is a veteran of electronic music with over 25 years of experience as a producer, DJ, mastering engineer, and A&R. As one half of the industrial techno duo Ghost in the Machine, he has made a significant mark on the genre with releases on the seminal Perc Trax and his own imprint, Genosha Recordings. His hardcore project, The Outside Agency, has for many years not only shattered but also set new standards within that scene, leading him to perform at virtually every prominent hardcore event worldwide. In recent years, he has dedicated himself to fighting for the rights of electronic music producers and he is one of the initiators and spokespersons of the Respect the Creators campaign.
