Lol Hammond [Music Supervisor/Composer]

Born in Stoke Newington, North London in 1969, Lol has been playing music since he was a teenager, in numerous bands and is an accomplished guitarist but made his name when he began making Electronic dance music with renegade sound system Spiral Tribe in 1991 and a year later formed the seminal dance act “ The Drum Club " with London based DJ Charlie Hall. Their hits included numerous club anthems such as "U Make Me Feel So Good”, "Alchemy" and "Sound System”, the latter also charting in the mainstream charts. They simultaneously ran a club of the same name which was voted the 'Club of the Nineties' by The Big Issue magazine and released three critically acclaimed albums, touring the world extensively with the likes of the Prodigy and Orbital. Hot producers and remixers at the time as well as a live act, The Drum Club remixed many bands including The Fall, Killing Joke, Lush, Chapterhouse, Curve, Jah Wobble and the Alabama 3.

Lol’s career changed direction when whilst hosting and running several nights in the Brixton area in 2001, Lol was asked to perform a cameo in the film “SW9" being filmed locally and directed by Richard Parry. Richard was a huge fan of The Drum Club and in particular the track “Alchemy” and Lol re-recorded the song with vocalist Lindy Layton (singer from Beats International's No1 single “Dub Be Good To Me) for the film. Richard and Lol struck up a friendship which lasts to this day and Richard asked him to be his music supervisor on the film. So began a music supervisor career which has seen Lol go on to work on nearly forty films to date, either in the capacity of music supervisor or as composer; often both.

Film credits include "Football Factory", "The Business", “Bronson”, "The Sweeney”, "It's All Gone Pete Tong”, “Monsters”, "The Firm”, "London to Brighton” The Escapist”, “Pusher”, "Street Dance 1 and 2" "Horrid Henry”, "All Stars”, "Dirty Sanchez”, "The Hatton Garden Job” and “Accident Man” He also produced “90 Minutes” with Rio Ferdinand and the incredibly moving film “21 Miles” with Coldplay.

Recently Lol has moved into the field of television working on the enormously successful “Bulletproof" series for Sky and the Christmas 2022 worldwide film release "Accident Man : A Hitman’s Holiday” for which Lol did both composition and music supervision with the lead track for the film "Biff Bang Pow!” written and performed by his band "Are We Superheroes” and which was released simultaneously as a single on Real World. He also recently recorded an album with Alabama 3 lead singer and writer, Larry Love and has just finished working on the legendary Ray Liotta's final film "Dangerous Waters” on which he was responsible for composition and music supervision.
