Resonate Artist Of The Week : Clarissa

Back again on the Tuesday after International Womens Day with another Resonate Artist Of The Week. Taking pride of place this week is hip-hop trailblazer Clarissa.

Fresh of the back of her official video to accompany ‘Attitude Problem’ - Clarissa makes a resounding entrance with her challenge to the patriarchy and indisputable confidence. ‘Attitude Problem’ is sonically haunted with a solemn high end piano sequence throughout… and aptly chopped full of attitude. A cohesive video featuring commanding dance choreography shows Clarissa’s skills extend far beyond the microphone.

Born in London to Scottish & Mauritian parents, Clarissa spent her formative years in Glasgow. Growing up, she quickly found a connection with music, making it her vehicle of expression and inspiration. We see a young empowered woman who is an innovator with her enviable lyric writing, intelligent rhythmic phrasing and gritty attitude.

Supported by Mobo & Sami from Up2Stndrd - a duo who have been hugely influential in the recent rise of Scottish hip-hop - Clarissa is unapologetically here and is creating new wave exciting music and we look forward to seeing what the future holds for this young performer.
