Jim Duguid, is best known for his work with Paolo Nutini. As a multi instrumentalist and songwriter, he helped Paolo develop his debut album “These Streets,” co-writing several songs including New shoes and Last Request. Published by Warner Chappell and based in London, he writes songs with a wide range of artists including Sam Smith, George Ezra, Kiko Bun, Callum Beattie and Lewis Capaldi. His Song, “Too Close”, co-written with Alex Clare was a worldwide multi platinum hit, US billboard top 10 in 2012 and gained a Brit award nomination. In 2018, Jim Duguid was appointed as Writer Director at PRS For Music. He is an advocate for songwriters and composers and is involved with PRS for Music’s Creator Voice project, helping promote the value of creators’ rights in the digital domain, and campaigning for better remuneration for writers’ and composers’ works.
