RESONATE ARTIST OF THE WEEK: Ess Gee

We’re a tad late to the table this week with our Resonate Artist Of The Week (forgive us, we were basking in the glorious Easter sunshine) but hey, this artist is worth the dramatic pause…

Step up Ess Gee. The debut release from natively Oban, now Glasgow based electro dream pop songstress is something to admired. The perfect accompaniment to almost any situation, ‘Bubble Queen’ is a sumptuous marriage of alternative pop and dreamy exquisiteness. Already celebrated with the title of ‘Single Of The Week’ on The Afternoon Show with Janice Forsyth, and hailed as ‘an ultra-catchy minimalist pop jewel’ by Clash Magazine, ‘Bubble Queen’ has been off to a rapid start since it’s release in March. You’ll undoubtedly be bobbing you head along to this carefully and cleverly arranged synth driven track. There’s an airy-ness, a brightness, contrasted with darker lyrical themes which eludes to this interesting musical conflict.

Ess Gee is one to set your sights on and keep in tune with activities. It’s fantastic to see such incredible songwriting prowess in someone so young. ‘Bubble Queen’ was co-written with Joe Alinden & Rory Green.
