Robert Kilpatrick - Scottish Music Industry Association
One of the loveliest and kindest people, we’re so pleased to be working alongside Robert Kilpatrick of the Scottish Music Industry Association. Alongside his colleagues Blue Kirkhope and Dougal Perman, The SMIA are representing and developing the Scottish Music Industry.
As General Manager, Robert is responsible for the day-to-day management of all SMIA services, projects and events. Following the SMIA joining Creative Scotland’s Regular Funding Network 2018-2021, Robert’s role includes overseeing the development of the SMIA; both as an association working on behalf of its members, as well as an innovation agency providing key training and support to music businesses and practitioners across Scotland.
Robert first became part of the SMIA team in 2014. He has previously worked as Events and Marketing Executive at music licensing organisation PPL, as well as at music festivals across the UK in a variety of freelance roles, including The Great Escape, Bestival, The Beat-herder and XpoNorth. Robert studied BA Commercial Music at the University of the West of Scotland and graduated with a First Class Honours Degree.
